FF Rick Nicholson


Rick Nicholson has been a member of the Auburn Fire Rescue Department for the past 11 years. Rick began his career as a call member in 2007 and in 2014 was appointed a career member of the department. Firefighter Nicholson is currently a member of Group 3 and serves as a Firefighter/EMT.

Firefighter Nicholson completed the District 7 Firefighter Recruit program in 2006 and obtained his EMT certification in 2007. He is a graduate of the Massachusetts Fire Fighting Academy Career Recruit Training Program Class #237. Amongst other Unit Citations, Rick was awarded the departments “Firefighter of the Year” award in 2014.

Firefighter Nicholson has a passion for training, in 2017 he was tasked with organizing training for the departments Call Firefighters, and currently coordinates trainings for Group 3. Rick is employed part-time at the Massachusetts Fire Fighting Academy as a member of the support staff.

Firefighter Nicholson is certified as a Firefighter I/II, Fire Instructor I, Fire Officer I and has completed the IAFF “Saving Ourselves” curriculum in 2017. He is also a certified CPR Instructor and teaches classes though the department’s Bureau of Community Risk Reduction, Community CPR Division.

Rick enjoys spending time with his wife of 23 years and two teenage daughters.
